More days in and around Rio

We had arranged for a driver to take us to the Sitio Burle Marx.  Burle Marx was a famous landscape architect and designer in Brazil.  This was his plantation, art studio and gardens.  We saw lots of beautiful tropical plants.







 He had a large collection of Brazilian folk art. 
 This is a "cannonball" tree.  Check out the cannonballs in the following photo.  Watch your head.

 


 Burle Marx designed the sidewalks along the beach in Ipanema (below).
 
Here are some of the computer generated decorations on the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the lake.
 
 


 We're on our way up to the top of Sugarloaf.
