Our 40th Anniversary Trip

To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we decided to do something really special.  We've been on lots of cruises but this time we decided to go on a smaller ship that is a bit more luxurious.  First, we flew to Auckland, New Zealand and spent a few days there.  We drove to the northern part of the north island for a couple of days in the Bay of Islands.  The we set sail on the Seven Seas Voyager for a cruise along the coast of New Zealand and then over to Australia.  After we disembarked from the ship, we stayed in Sydney for a few days.

Here are some photos of Auckland.
It kind of reminded us of Vancouver, BC.
There were lots of old buildings, new buildings, water, gardens and overcast skies.

This is the pier where we embarked on our cruise, but this is not our ship.
This is the Sea Princess which is quite a bit larger than our ship.

This is the view from our hotel room.  You can see the Sea Princess sailing out of the harbor.
This is the Auckland Museum, known for its collection of Maori art.

Of course, we had to visit the Conservatory.

And the rose garden.
