Museo Larco, Lima

If you go to Lima, you must go to the Museo Larco.
It has a fabulous, well documented collection of Peruvian pottery as well as textiles and metal work.

It's hard to tell the scale of this textile from the photo, but it was probably 10 feet high and 20 feet wide!

Below is an Inca Quipu which is a knotting technique that they used for record keeping since they had no known written language.

After you go through the museum, you can view the "warehouse," which is organized by subject.

The museum is in an old hacienda and has a beautiful garden.
We ate lunch in the restaurant alongside the lovely garden.
