Kyoto, part 5

After the Road Scholar tour ended, we stayed a few extra days in Kyoto so we visited the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) on our own.

Also visited Ryoan-ji with its famous rock garden.

We took a taxi across town to the Gion District which was a famous area for Geishas.  We had   Okanomiyaki for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the canal.
